Do they trust you?

Trust starts to grow the first time you deliver on a promise, share who you really are and take someone’s needs into account!

It then strengthens (think muscle) in micro-moments of repeated connection and safety…

and is hurt by painful surprises or questionable intentions. (think pulled muscles, or worse, torn ligaments!!)

It can also slowly erode through inconsistency, holding yourself back or pushing too hard.

I think the real problem though is often overlooked.

We are all different, and have a different trust recipe.

TRY THIS...

Use this personality tool I share in many of my workshops to explore where trust is most easily won or eroded.

Ask your team (and yourself OBVIOUSLY!) to put these in order as most frustrating or even damaging….and then watch the discussion open up…

  • can’t back up their statements or are inconsistent

  • doesn’t follow through with action, or walk the talk

  • fails to show consideration or disrespecting feeling/needs

  • going it alone and excluding or dismissing others

💡Top TIP:

If you already use 🟡🟢🔴🔵, see if you can spot which is which, and if your choices align to the order on your graph. It might surprise you.

If you are new to this colour thing, just reply to me here and I’ll send you a free one to look at.

SOMETHING TO PONDER...

  • Who do you trust… have you always trusted them?

  • What is a ‘deal breaker’ for you when it comes to trust? (have YOU ever done that?)

  • Who trusts you? (are you sure? how do you know?)

SOMETHING FOR LATER...

Whilst you are there, why not go all in and ask the team how connected they feel

And if you are up for some in-person connection join us at the next Read-Treat.
