Who I am

People are endlessly fascinating.

We can all sit through exactly the same meeting and somehow leave with completely different versions of what happened. Same events, but different interpretations, different assumptions and different stories we create about what happened.

I find that incredible.

It’s probably why I’ve always been curious about people. Who we are, how we behave, what shapes our thinking and why even the best intentions can lead us down unhelpful paths and into unhealthy patterns.

Most people don't come to me because they need another workshop, another model or another set of things to do.

They come because something doesn't quite make sense.

A team that used to work well has become harder to lead. Conversations are being avoided. People are making assumptions about each other. Something feels off, but nobody can quite put their finger on what.

Something feels off, but nobody can quite put their finger on what.

A woman sitting at a wooden table in an office, smiling and looking to her left, with a laptop, a glass, and a small can on the table, and plants in the foreground.

That’s the bit I love. The mystery that needs unravelling. I know that probably makes me sound like I should have been a detective rather than a facilitator.

I love creating the space for people to slow things down, ask better questions and uncover what is really happening beneath the surface.

I have a habit of looking for the dots that aren’t yet connecting. Not because I think I have all the answers, but because I know that there’s always more to any story.

I’m also relaxed about things going off on a tangent, because that’s often where we find what matters most.

I don’t set out to fix people. People aren’t broken.

Instead I create the space where people can slow things down, feel safe enough to be honest and start seeing things from a different perspective

Client: "I need you."

Me: "Not really. You just need to channel your inner Yvi."

We both smiled, but I meant it. I don’t want to be the person you rely on forever...

Me: “My goal is to help you think differently, ask better questions and trust yourself more. If you need me less and less, I know I’ve done my job."

A woman , Yvi (Yvonne) Guerineau, sitting in a hanging garden chair outdoors during the day, engrossed in a book. She is wearing a navy blue lace top, jeans, and pink barefoot shoes. There is greenery and a wooden fence in the background.

The lines between work and life are probably a little blurred for me. I'm just as likely talking about personalities over coffee as I am in a workshop.

I bake to slow down, swim in the sea to feel connected and have fully embraced barefoot shoes, although I'm still not convinced everyone understands them.

If I've discovered a brilliant book, podcast or idea that I think you'll enjoy, here's a fair chance it'll find its way into our conversation too.

So, if you've arrived here wondering what kind of support you need, that's okay. Many people I work with don’t have the answer when we first talk.

We start with a conversation, explore what’s really going on and work out together what would help.
