How good are your observation skills?

try This

To build any good relationship, you have to be good at noticing things!

People will naturally 'leak' information about themselves, and your job is to notice those leaks of useful information.

So, how observant are you? How much do you notice?

Try this: Take 60 seconds to look at the image below. Take in as much as you can and then scroll on down.

  1. How many people in total were involved in this accident?

  2. How many males and how many females are there? Based on what information?

  3. What colour are the vehicles?

  4. What injury did the person on the ground seem to be suffering from?

  5. What colour is the license plate on this picture?

Once you've answered them all, go back and have a look.

  • How many did you get right?

  • Were you observant?

  • Is it time to improve your observation skills?

SometHing to Ponder

If I asked you how good you are at spotting when people switch off, how would you rate yourself?

Now think again, is that score really how good you are, or how good you like to think you are?!

This week, I want you to keep that question in mind when you're in social settings. Are you noticing when people begin to lose interest? Do you know when they've completely switched off?

What data are you using to draw this conclusion?

What have you been missing?
